Work sheets

My first moodboard was based on the world and celebrities that mean something to me and my childhood. I got all these images from google images or BBC News website.

My second moodboard was more local to me, I mean I live in Kendray, Barnsley so I took all these from the Barnsley Chronicle website & google images from a search of "places to visit around Barnsley". I tried to focus on what I see in my everyday life.

On my second design sheet I have taken all the word which are more local to my life like family members, important and significant numbers, pets and places. For example; Andrea & Andy are my mum and step-dad, Chris is the name of my dad, Leo is my son's name, 1.1.15 is the day my son was born, Tyke & Ruby are my dogs names, Barnsley is where I live and 151 is my house number.

On my first design sheet I was more about my childhood and what actors I like from certain TV shows or films. Each item represents a show/film and an actor or actress I like from that show/film. For example.
  • The USA flag is for Top Gun & Tom Cruise
  • The dice is for Jumanji & Robin Williams
  • The red and white shield is for Captain America & Chris Evans
  • The boot bottom is for Toy Story & Tom Hanks (my favourite)
  • The X is for X-Men & Hugh Jackman
  • The screwdriver is for Doctor Who & Davis Tennant (10th Doctor)
  • The purple shield is for The Lord Of The Rings & Sean Bean
  • The Infiitiy Symbol is for revenge & a number of actors ~
- Emily VanCamp as Emily Thorne
- Gabriel Mann as Nolan Ross
- Nick Wechsler as Jack Porter
- Josh Bowman as Daniel Grayson

In 1958, O'Keeffe painted Ladder to the Moon. The painting shows a handmade wooden ladder suspended in the turquoise sky. In the background are the pitch black Pedernal Mountains and a pearl colour half moon. This painting was very similar to a picture taken of O'Keeffe and her surroundings at Ghost Ranch. In the picture, a large wooden ladder is leaned against an outer wall of a patio from where it rises up into the sky with the Pedernal Mountains in the background. Some say her immediate surroundings at Ghost Ranch were the inspiration of this piece of art. Others interpret the painting as a religious work. In Pueblo culture the ladder is used to symbolize the link between the Pueblos and cosmic forces. The fact that the ladder is pointed up in the sky may represent the link between nature and the cosmos.   http://www.georgiaokeeffe.net/ladder-to-the-moon.jsp

Vincent Van Gogh 's self portrait from 1887/8. I like this of Van Gogh because of his technique he used to paint this image of him-self, lined brush strokes to create the impression of texture and pattern to the painting. This also made it easier to shade his dark area's on his face using this technique. This painting is entitled "Self-Portrait with felt hat".

This is my design development sheet. This had to be done to help you decide how your final piece was going to be and then you could know what your doing to help make your final design. On this sheet I focused on one design and items to go in the box. For the design of my box on this page I thought of maybe having windows in the each side so the audience could see what was inside it. I also planed and few items which could maybe go into my bow like, a baby bottle, a paint brush and pallet, Eeyore's tail, Captain Americas shield and Leo's name in block letter's.

On this design development sheet, I looked more to my box designs and the details of all that implies. Like the wood which the box could be made from, the style and shape of the box, the colour scheme of the outside and inside of the box and also the demotions of the box. How high? how deep? how thick the wood could be?

This is my final design sheet. On this I showed the different parts of my box like the main box, the cross section of the box, and all the made parts to go in the box. These are thing's like; a bottle, my son's name & his the date he was born. The name of my son is Leo and his date of birth is 1.1.15. I made all of these little items that are going in my box in the 3D workshop with Brad, Adam & Lewis, Barnsley College's 3D wood technicians. I made the baby bottle on the wood turning lathe, the letters and numbers were made using the pillar drill, the band saw and the dick/belt sander. I then use acrylic paints to finish all the box and pieces to go in the box.

This is my finished final piece.
